The moment in which you know that you fall in love
The moment in which you know that you have fallen in love with someone is one of the most exciting and scary moments in life. Being in love with someone is scary because, for the most part, it can be completely out of control.
The heart wants what it wants. When the joy, the nerves, the butterflies, the fear and the euphoria come together, you know it somehow.
You know you fall in love when time runs fast and you desperately want to have a pause button in your life so you can be with him forever, frozen in a perfect moment.
You know that you fall in love when you forget that you are hungry and all you can think of is how amazing the one person is; and when you can sit in silence with him and feel like it’s the best conversation you’ve ever had.
Being able to sit together in silence without having to say something is one of the most powerful things, as well as communication. And you know that you fall in love when you wake up and the other person is the first thing that goes through your head and the thought of it immediately makes you smile.
You know you fall in love when you can sleep with him in your bed. Especially if you can fall asleep while snoring and if you can share the blankets. You know it because you want to know everything about the other person. In which house he grew up, how many cousins he has, what sports he has practised, what films he hates, what his favourite restaurant is …
You fall in love when you give him enough confidence and tell him your deepest, darkest secret and you know he is not running away. You feel well enough to be vulnerable, and you know that he will protect you from your demons and fears. You fall in love when you just want to talk about the person you’re in love with. How sweet he is. How caring he is. How similar you two are. You want to tell the world everything about him and let everyone know how you met.
You know you fall in love when you start staring into the distance, in class or in a meeting or in your office, thinking how perfect you two are together. The more you think about it, the more you want to scream out from the top of a mountain.
You know that you just fall in love when all the other relationships you’ve had before seem vague and blurry. You do not have to hold on to the decaying love of the failed relationships, the wounds, the wounds, and the anger. You learn to let go, even if you have never done it.
When you realize that you are holding back because the fear of being hurt again and again is not fair to someone new. Because he is not your past. Instead, it could be your future.
You know that you fall in love with someone – because you know it. These can all be signs, but the moment you realize that you really love the other person, you just know it. It hits you like a bunch of bricks. It blows the air out of your lungs. And it’s the best feeling in the world.
