They have wronged you in many ways. They broke your heart and your soul. They left scars and emotional wounds that you still carry.
They made you cry incessant tears on your pillow. They destroyed your life and your dreams. They have distorted the innocent child in you. They have disappointed you again and again. They made you doubt yourself and your worth. They made people suspicious. They stole your peace and your happiness. Now your soul is full of anger and bitterness. You feel the constant need to take revenge, but deep down, you know that the best thing to do is to forgive and move on.
Forgive them, not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace.
You deserve to move forward in life. Your life is limited. there are not many tomorrows. You cannot live your best life today if you let your past hold you back. You cannot advance without letting go of the blockages that block you. You cannot take advantage of the present moment and be happy if your mind is filled with negative energy and anger.
It’s easier said than done, yes. However, you must remember that you are doing it for yourself. It is the best and fairest thing to do for your soul. Believe in karma and divine justice. All people sooner or later pay for their faults and bad deeds.
Forgive them because people are not saints. No one is perfect, and we all have inner demons that we struggle with every day. Whatever people do, they have to do with their beliefs, their struggles, their faults and nothing with you. Don’t take anything personally. Never regret being nice. Such experiences make us stronger and wiser if we choose to take advantage of them. You can either dwell on the pain, let it overcome you, sink into an ocean of bitterness. Or, you can let the pain fuel you, make you stronger, learn from the experience, and move on.
Forgive people and don’t forget to forgive yourself.
Forgive yourself for all the bad decisions and bad choices because you didn’t know better, and these decisions taught you how to make better ones now. Forgive yourself for all your failures because they have taught you what is not working and you now have a better chance of succeeding. Forgive yourself for all your bad deeds because you are not the same person: you admit your fault, you are sorry and you deserve a second chance.
Forgive yourself simply because you deserve forgiveness as much as anyone.
At the end of the day, we are all work in progress, we fall back, we make mistakes to learn, we hurt people who are dear to us unintentionally, and we struggle every day with our inner demons. However, we all deserve a second chance because we learn and grow to be a better person.
We need this forgiveness and this conviction that we can be that better person, that we can make this positive change. Let us help each other in our growth journey by forgiving each other so that we can all heal and move forward in our life journey.
