Thank you for being present in my life. When I look back, the circumstances under which we met may not seem the best. However, I did not know then that I met someone who would stay by my side for years. Maybe we didn’t realize how much we needed each other, but we knew we could trust the skin and laugh at it, and that was enough.
Thank you for overcoming all the storms we have faced together. Maybe it was a misunderstanding, maybe one of us had a bad day, maybe we were going through a terrible time in our lives, but we said things that we have regretted. However, no matter what happened, we never let go of our friendship because we knew how important it was. Thank you for always accepting my apologies and thank you for loving me enough to tell me when you were wrong.
Thank you for being with me when I have faced problems that have nothing to do with you. Whatever the problem, you still chose to stay close to me even if you saw that everything was falling apart. You cried with me, even if you didn’t understand why. You defended me, even if I was wrong, and you were the first to tell me when we were alone. You did not have to face problems that were not your own and you did not have to support yourself when it was not your responsibility. However, your presence was the real reason why I thought I could do it.
Thank you for creating memories with me that I could not imagine creating with someone else. Thank you for coming late to tell me about life, things, or even something as trivial as the plot of a TV series. Thank you for coming with me to explore new places and for showing me what I could have missed. Thank you for showing me your perspectives on life, even if they were very different from mine.
Thank you for loving me even when I was hateful. Knowing who I am as a person and never giving up, even if it seemed the easiest thing at the time. Thank you for reminding me of all the good things you learned about me from the first day we met. Thank you for encouraging me when I didn’t believe in myself.
Thank you for not allowing life changes to separate us, be it distance, relationships, new jobs, new opportunities or just busy schedules, you have remained consistent in maintaining our friendship. Things smaller than these can tear people apart, but you are always willing to fight to keep this friendship alive. I must admit that we are the best and that we have learned to talk about what is important to us. You have taught me that standing in line means being reliable and caring, even when everything else around you is not.
Thank you for choosing to stay with me. You have changed my life for the better and I look forward to continuing to live it with you!
