I am an adventurer but also a loner. I’m the woman you see alone in a bar drinking tea and reading a book. I am the person who goes to the restaurant alone, without shame. I am the woman who goes to concerts without feeling embarrassed to be alone. I sing with my heart and I enjoy it to death.

When I grew up, I realized that doing things alone is wonderful. I mean, of course, sometimes it’s fun to be with other people. However, many underestimate how much we can enjoy certain activities without people. Some people think they are “alone” and “do things alone” as something bad. This means that you are anti-social or that you are a “loser”, and this social label is false.

There are so many people who are afraid to do things alone and to live alone. I have to admit that I was one of them and now I realize that I lost a lot of things just because I didn’t want to do it alone. Whenever I wanted to go somewhere, go to a concert or do a fun activity, I asked friends to accompany me and if they didn’t want to go or do it, I wouldn’t have done it myself- even.

This mentality has kept me on so many things, now I have come to the conclusion that it is my life and I will not let anyone or anything hold me back. I will do whatever my heart desires even if I have to do it alone.

Once I changed my mindset and started living my life to my liking, I found this feeling of freedom, the freedom to be me, the freedom to do whatever I want to do. And let me tell you that there is no better feeling than enjoying your own company.

In recent years, when I started doing things alone, I had the best moments of my life. I went hiking, biking, skydiving, bungee jumping, travelling alone and I have many wonderful memories.

I learned to be my best friend. I am the woman who chooses to do fun things by herself, doing things alone seems normal to me.

The truth is that not everyone will want to go where you want, not everyone will have the same interests, not everyone will want to do what you want to do. Don’t let these people keep you if they don’t want to join you, leave them alone. Do not put your life on hold because others are unwilling to do what you want to do. Don’t be afraid to do it yourself.

For many, the idea of venturing alone seems daunting, perhaps even a little awkward. Do not be ashamed to embark on an adventure without anyone It is liberating, sensational, regenerating and extremely good for your soul.

When you go out alone in the world, you must not compromise with anyone. You don’t have to wait for anyone. Do things at your own pace. You can talk to strangers and meet new people. You can concentrate better without distractions. You can choose to stay outside all night if you want, you can visit your favourite restaurants and places, the list of what you can do alone is endless. Some of the best experiences happen when you venture out into the world alone.

When you venture out on your own, it seems that all of your senses are heightened. Suddenly, the colours of the flowers become brighter, pay attention to the details, observe them, you can hear the music, it sounds better and you notice so many things around the world. Doing it yourself gives you the opportunity to collect your thoughts, analyze your life, and make important decisions. When you do things yourself, you become independent, you don’t rely on anyone to make you happy, because you realize that you are sufficient for yourself.

Once you get into the habit of doing things yourself, you’ll see how important it is.

Do everything you missed just because you don’t have friends with whom to do it. Take a trip to the museum you wanted to visit. Take part in a crazy adventure. Go do something you want. Go watch this movie that none of your friends want to see. Take the vacation you had planned. Go to the art fair that your friends find boring. Have a cup of tea by yourself when no one is free to make it with you. Whatever you want to do, do it.

Do not miss anything in life. Exit and create memories. Enjoy your company. Be happy yourself. Do it yourself.
